Show Me Your Desktop
1. What is your background picture?
A photo of the RCBC Plaza (Makati) buildings in an imperfect V-shaped, worm’s eye view. (Taken during the Philippine Blog Awards 2007.)
2. Why did you chose that picture?
I love looking up. I love the perspective. I love the rhythm of the windows and its architecture. And I took the photo.
3. If you have a personal and a work computer, which program do you use the most on your personal computer?
You can check my Wakoopa profile for that, but I think I set the info to private. I’m sure it’s Firefox, though. :)
4. Which program do you use the most on your work computer?
Same as above!
5. Internet Explorer or Firefox?
Firefox!
6. Why do you use Firefox?
It’s critical to my job. And it’s the portal to the Internet, where I spend pretty much my whole day.
7. What is your favourite program?
Firefox is a given. Adobe Photoshop and the rest of the Creative Suite 3 is a runner up, as well as the AutoHotKey. It’s soooo convenient for typing out HTML.
8. Which program is the worst?
WinRAR is utterly useful but annoying because mine has a nag screen. To say Internet Explorer would be cliche, but I don’t use it that much to really hate it.
9. Do you have any tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your computer or blog?
I’ve mentioned AutoHotKey. It’s useful for typing out text you use often—HTML is the perfect example. I like Launchy to some extent, but it’s not as intuitive as I would like it to be. I think the secret to computing is to learn and use shortcut keys!
Bonus question: No icons on your desktop?! Why is that?
First, I don’t keep my files in My Documents and those Windows-created folders under my user profile. I don’t like a cluttered desktop so I hide all the icons on it. But I put Stickies on it. Not perfectly clean, but useful.
